I think she is finding that being a celebrity is more important to her than being a public official. Now she will be able to promote her book, work for Fox News in some capacity, start her own fashion line, and maybe have her own reality t.v. show. I can even envision her working as a judge on a future Miss U.S. pageant.

Also they clamped down on her frivolous expense reporting, so that extra income is no longer available to her.

If there was a "love it" reply I would have used it for your comment..right on!!

I presume you haven't watched her speech.

I know she will become a strong voice for conservative women. Given that NOW never came to her defense against the outrageous sexist and derogatory commentary on her as a mother and the incessant attacks on her children.

No politician in the history of this nation has been treated the way this good Governor and woman has been treated.

She will be out there, she will be campaigning for good government, small government, and I hope like hell she attacks the media for their outrageous lies and slander.

Did you hear Rick Sanchez? He claims perhaps she is quitting because she is pregnant again. We now know why CNN is losing.
  • JunkJunk · 4 months ago
Well, she did intentionally hide her last pregnancy...

Palin hasn't had to endure anything that any political candidate has not had to endure of late. Rush Limbaugh called Chelsea the family dog--how many GOP women rushed to Chelsea's defense? And yes, she was still a minor at the time. What about the endless jokes from late-night comedians and radio comedian Rush Limbaugh on the Clinton family? And what about the many slurs I see on a daily basis about Michelle Obama and the girls? Oh right, they are okay if they are made about Democratic women and families. Anyway, it's another great GOP myth that Palin has endured worse than anyone else. The problem is that Palin can't handle criticisim (or a joke) and so wildly overreacts that she simply cannot handle life in the public eye effectively. And it's going to be extremely difficult for her to "campaign for good government" when she bailed on her home state and couldn't complete her term as governor. But then that's what quitters and whiners do. Stick a fork in her, she's done. What's that sound I hear? Yeah, whining from the idiots who believed she and Mark Sanford were the great white hopes for the GOP. How's that working out for y'all? LOL.

Huh??? When did any comedian insult Chelsea or the Clintons?? Except for Bill's "Monica" scandal, there was only light ocassional sarcasm that their Democrat syncophants would not be upset about. If one dares to insult a Dem or call attention to their out and out lawlessness or disgusting behavior, one is pilloried by the press and people like Carville, who never gets turned down for a press conference. Come on - everyone know the Dems get all the breaks from the press and comedians. After all, most of them have been indocrinated by college professors who have taken over out educational system. Rush Limbaugh doesn't unfairly insult people - he just tells it like it is and the Dems can't stand anyone who is critical of them. The more you try to make Rush and Sarah demons, the more people listen to them. Have you personally ever heard Rush's radio show? doubtful.

actually now did come to her defense, surprised you don't have the basic facts at hand ...your rigidity and lack of any creativity are a given, but usually you at least have a base of truth for your wrong-headedness
  • TinafromTampa · 4 months ago
The one and only time NOW stood up for Sarah was the Letterman sick, perverted jokes. And even that was weak, but yes, they did finally come to her defense.
  • nitish · 4 months ago
apparently, this is NOW coming to sarah palin's defense...

At least, the memorial is on Tuesday, so even MSNBC can join in the coverage. On the weekend, MSNBC would still stick to documentaries about prisons.
  • wermyapl · 4 months ago
I wonder when the MS will decide it's too embarrassed to be a part of MSNBC?
  • Corporations betray America · 4 months ago
    That's so true.
  • TinafromTampa · 4 months ago
I'm surprised there is not a thread on Palin.....as someone on air said -- she knocked Jackson out of the headlines. At least she has on the stations I've been watching and that includes all three cablers.

In fact MSNBC right now is replaying her full 17 minute speech.
  • diditlive · 4 months ago
and what a gem it was, another incoherent sing-song exhibition of vacuosness meandering from a lebron james post-game press conference to a celebrity death match exhibition to a military shout-out and on to a jerry falwell revival and a great race reality show all spoken with a crying baby, yelping geese soundtrack delivered to a few stray walkers at the start of a holiday where americans will celebrate their independence from tyranny and sarah palin...she is the only person strange enough to suck some air from the michael jackson coverage, of course michael's professional legacy will live on forever, miss shooting star is done with serious politics, no white house for her and relief for alaskan voters who no doubt want somebody as a governor who wants to be there and is strong enough to handle the job , and who doesn't bame others for their faults...so long moose meat and welcome to celebutante life

It is the Friday before July 4th. I am sure Chris is throwing down a few cold ones right now.
  • TinafromTampa · 4 months ago
Perhaps he is; but I will note that the coverage of Palin started prior to the timing of the most recent posted article on MJ.
  • Same2U(AH) · 4 months ago
    fair point.
  • ChrisTVN · 4 months ago
Hey guys. I just put up a story on Palin. Now it's time for those cold ones. Have a good 4th, and keep the threads on the up and up. I'm taking it slow this weekend.

    Thanks.

The man hasn't been musically relevant for 15 years. Good coverage for ENT but not Fox. We thought you had grown up.

    Now FNC joins the CIRCUS!

http://www.DumpChrisDodd.com - Covered the "BANKERS FOR DODD" Fundraiser a week ago. Media did not.
  • bluebluebear · 4 months ago
Haha! Thanks for the link. The Citizens of CT would be wise to check the box for whoever his running against him---whether its in the primaries or the general election.

This is a story that Media Bistro should be covering with gusto:

Heavy Coverage of Sanford’s Woes, But Where Are Democratic Scandals?

    http://newsbusters.org/blogs/rich-noyes/2009/07...
  • bluebluebear · 4 months ago
Don't forget how the media conveniently leaves out the (D) for Democrats in scandals (the ones they decide to report on). None of the mainstream media reported that the senator from Illinois whose wife was caught in a briebery was Democrat. When Spitzer resigned and made his apology tour...he wasn't reffered to as a Democrat. When Blago was arrested, very few in the media reported him as democrat.

When when Sanford (idiot) admitted his affir ... "Republican" "Republican" "Republican" "Republican" "Republican"

It's funny, the liberal media doesn't even try to hide it anymore.
  • Spursbox · 4 months ago
Funny, what you say is clear as day to me and some others. Amazing how many just can't see the truth.
  • journogirlagain · 4 months ago
Am I missing something here? Can someone explain to me how is MJ's funeral is news? This is one of the reasons the nation is in its current state - too much is focused on celebrities.

How great this must be for the House and Senate - what can they ram through because people and the media is too focused on Michael Jackson?!

I expect this from the MSM as well as CNN and MSNBC, but from Fox? I'm disappointed.

This isn't news. Obamacare, Honduras, Iran election, N Korea, growing jobless rate and the non-stimulus, Cap and Tax - oops, Trade, Card Check, - things that will actually alter this nation is news. Not the death of a fading pop star.

I can't believe how much the media has declined this year.
  • mardec · 4 months ago
journogirlagain you are so right. Enough of MJ already! Let the poor man rest in peace.
  • bluebluebear · 4 months ago
Disspaointed in Fox for once....Fox news is supposed to be the network for adults and seperate from mainstream media...taking part in this Jackson circus only makes FNC look as dumb as the other networks. There are much bigger things to report on such as our soliders and our politics back here at home that will rapidly change our lifestyles. Jackson is dead, nothing will change that. His memories will live on forever and let that be the only thing that lives forever---his coverage doesn't need to go on forever. Word to the media: leave...it...alone!
